Hierarchy is defined by the order of importance within a social group or in a body of text. I used hierarchy in my design by using scale, color, and placement. Each circle is its own category and is arranged in size based on how much of each category is collected or its importance. The placement of the words are larger on the inside and get smaller as they break down into smaller categories. For example, in clothing I started with things I have a lot of and then the words get smaller as they go into smaller categories. I also made the bigger circles a darker blue and the smaller circles a lighter blue.
Using only text was challenging for me because I had to focus a lot on spacing. If I had the ability to use objects I would have been able to emphasize words a lot easier rather than only using text. I learned that the type tool has a lot of subsections. I decided to mess around with this tool to create many different ideas that I could work with. My design uses balance because asymmetry is present in my design. I placed the circles in random places around the board so the eye is drawn to larger areas. Rhythm is present in my design as I have the repetition of circles within each category. I believe I used texture by using light and dark colors and messing with the opacity. The layered texts that are darker seem closer than the smaller texts that are lighter or vice versa.
